School Food Matters

Chantelle has been working with School Food Matters for a number of years, welcoming groups of teenagers to learn about cooking with seasonal vegetables and food waste, as well as introducing them to the restaurant industry.

In September 2019, Chantelle and the Tredwells team ran a session with students from UAE South Bank. They started with a discussion about seasonal vegetables, before introducing them to new ways of cooking, using salt dough to wrap around celeriac and making mayonnaise using aquafaba (chickpea water!).

The session also gave the students an opportunity to experience a career in food, learning about how a restaurant kitchen works and the exciting career opportunities it presents.
